Treat Enlarged Prostate with Avodart Dutasteride & Improve Urine Flow part 1
Posted in on 15.12.09
Generic Avodart
(Dutasteride) is a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound and one of the few
inhibitors of both the type 1 and type 2 isoforms of 5-alpha reductase enzyme.
This particular enzyme carries out the process of converting testosterone to
dihydrotestosterone or DHT. A rising DHT level in the body is the root cause
for enlarged prostate in men, known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). It
also leads to hair loss in the vertex region of the scalp.
Working Mechanism
Dutasteride acts on
the 5-alpha reductase enzyme by blocking its prime activity of converting
testosterone to DHT hormone. This results in reduced DHT level in the blood and
consequently, the contraction of the enlarged prostate in majority of men.
Avodart (Dutasteride) lowers the danger of acute urinary retention and enhances
urine flow. Taking Generic Avodart Dutasteride may also decrease the risk of BPH-related
surgery and prostate cancer. The treatment of male pattern baldness is its off-label
use. It has been found to reverse baldness in certain men. However, Dutasteride
prevents hair loss and remains effective as long as the medication is carried
on. Sometimes, it is administered along with another medication known as Flomax
(Tamsulosin).
